Today marks the three year anniversary of Karma Canon performing live for the first time at Mojo 13 in Wilmington, Delaware on October 18, 2008. 20+ minutes of improv featuring Jay Caddle (Vocals, Bass, Keyboards), Adrian Rosario (Guitar), Michael Miller (Guitar) and myself (Drums).

I had the honor and pleasure of playing with comedian/musician Al Frisby and his band while out in Santa Cruz, CA. This video is from a performance at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz, CA in 1997 or 98(?) I’m in the gorilla mask playing drums and credited as “Lee Krautheim Drums” in the videos from this day. This 30 second spot for National Paintball Supply goes back to 2004. Working there at the time with good friend, Adrian Rosario, we collaborated on the audio as Simpson (Adrian-Guitar and Myself-Drums) and recorded at the Mojunk Studio in Philadelphia. The video was cut, edited and produced by AGR. It also showcases some logo and apparel designs by LEIAD.
Like fine wine aging in barrels hidden away in underground caves out in Napa Valley, California, the archived recordings of Karma Canon exist online, on hard drives and some even on tape. Eight years of improvisational sessions beginning in 2002 have been documented by Jay Caddle among many of his projects. The original unveiling of these Karma Canon sessions can be seen on freakoftheweek.com.
This Karma Canon Collection is my personal selection with 11 of my favorite, stand-out tracks from sessions taking place in 2002 and 2003 when Jay’s studio was located in the Astracade, Philadelphia on Ridge Avenue. Champions – A Rehabilitation Sports Story from Philthy Soft Petzls.
Champions was produced for Magee Rehabilitation‘s “Night of Champions” event on 05.07.10.
LEIAD works with Friends at Magee Rehab on logo designs for their teams including rugby, basketball, tennis and power soccer and they can been seen in the video. Audio tracks were contributed from Karma Canon and The Garden of Eden projects. Much respect to Philthy for all their work directing and producing the video and many thanks for being included. Proud to have been involved.
